Vol. 417 No. 1

Written Answers. - Jobs Subsidy Scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

41 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Labour if he will prohibit employers who make workers redundant from availing of the new jobs subsidy scheme.

The employment subsidy scheme is open to employees who can provide additional full time employment opportunities which are capable of being sustained. Additionality will be measured by reference to the numbers of full time seasonal employees in employment with the employer on 1 November 1991. Only employers who can satisfy these conditions are eligible to participate in the scheme.
