Question:

118 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline for each Civil Service grade the five highest individual gratuity payments, where such payments apply made to persons employed by the Houses of the Oireachtas for each of the years 1988 to 1991, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:

1988 — Usher: (i), £1,884; (ii), £1,797; (iii), £1,784; (iv), £1,765; (v), £1,751. No other grades involved.

1989 — Usher: (i), £1,845; (ii), £1,803; (iii), £1,789; (iv), £1,787; (v), £1,749. Clerk Assistant of Seanad: £418. Superintendent of Houses: £377. Principal Clerk: (i), £418; (ii), £418; (iii), £418; (iv), £377; (v), £377. Assistant Principal (Committee Clerk): (i), £418; (ii), £418. Senior Clerk: (i) £377. Junior Clerk: (i), £418. Clerical Assistant: (i), £418; (ii), £418.

1990 — Usher: (i), £3,465; (ii), £3,074; (iii), £2,978; (iv), £2,916; (v), £2,901. No other grades involved.

1991 — Usher: (i), £3,473; (ii), £3,218; (iii), £3,191; (iv), £3,092; (v), £2,987. Clerical Officer: (i), £100; (ii), £20. Higher Executive Officer: £472.
