Question:190 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education if he will make a grant available so that the athletics track at Cork Regional Technical College can be repaired in order to avoid closure of the track.

My Department make grants available from the proceeds of the national lottery under a scheme approved by Government for the provision of regional and local sports centres at specified locations throughout the country. The funds available under this scheme are fully committed and, consequently, it is not possible to make a grant available for the refurbishment of the athletics track at Cork Regional Technical College.
