Vol. 418 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cork ENT Services.

Bernard Allen

Question:

146 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the number of people waiting for ear, nose and throat operations in the Cork area.

The latest information available to my Department is that there are 679 patients awaiting ENT operations in the Cork area.

The regional ENT service for the Southern Health Board area is based at the South Infirmary/Victoria Hospital, Cork. The Deputy will be pleased to learn that provision has been made in the South Infirmary/Victoria Hospital's allocation for 1992 for the further development of ENT services at that hospital.
