Vol. 418 No. 4

Written Answers. - Fish-Finding Devices.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

53 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Marine if he supports the use, on inland waterways, of electronic fish-finding devices.

I am aware that these devices are used on inland waterways to establish whether fish are present. I am also aware that there is some concern about their use. However, there is no evidence at this stage to indicate that their use is detrimental to fish or fish stocks. This is a matter which will be kept under review.
