Vol. 418 No. 7

Written Answers. - Language Disorder Units.

Michael Noonan

Question:

144 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the progress which has been made to establish a language disorder unit in, (a) Limerick (b) Clare and (c) North Tipperary, similar to the those in operation in Scoil Chaitríona in Galway and a number in Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Consideration is being given, in consultation with the health authorities, to the establishment of a unit or units for language disorder to serve the areas referred to. I would hope that the necessary data will be available shortly to enable an early decision to be made on the arrangements required.
