Vol. 418 No. 7

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Scheme.

Michael O'Kennedy

Question:

327 Mr. O'Kennedy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the total amount of grants of premia payable in north Tipperary under the disadvantaged areas scheme in, (a) 1991 and (b) 1992; and whether all such grants or premia have been paid up to date.

Separate statistics are not kept for payments under the disadvantaged areas schemes for north Tipperary and south Tipperary. Statistics are kept for County Tipperary as a whole. It is estimated that the amount due under the disadvantaged areas schemes for County Tipperary for 1991 was £1.29 million. To date the amount paid is £1.19 million. The outstanding cases are the subject of queries.

It is estimated that the amount due for 1992 will be £1.4 million. Payments under the 1992 schemes are not due to commence until autumn.
