Enda Kenny

Question:

162 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a beef premium will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

This applicant opted to apply for the 1991 special beef premium scheme during the second application period in December 1991 rather than the usual application period of May/June. Payments in respect of applications lodged during the December period will commence shortly. If this application is in order payment will issue in due course.

Phil Hogan

Question:

163 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason that financial difficulty is not accepted as a basis of overcoming a problem in respect of an application for agriculture premia; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ongoing financial difficulties are not accepted by the EC Commission as a valid force majeure reason for failure to maintain animals for specified periods under the suckler cow, special beef premium and ewe premium schemes.

Question:

164 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his cattle headage grant and suckler cow premium; and the reason for the long delay in this case.

This person has been paid his grant under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme for small scale milk producers already. Payment due to him under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme is being processed and will issue shortly. Payment in this case was delayed because the person named lodged his original application for the cattle headage scheme on an incorrect application form.

Question:

165 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his installation aid grant.

This application cannot be further processed until the applicant furnishes evidence that he satisfies the minimum labour unit requirement necessary under the scheme.

166 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a reactor grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

The reactor grant due to the person named has been paid.

Jim Higgins

Question:

167 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a beef grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

This applicant's 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed at present and if found in order following a computer validation check payment will be made shortly.

There is no particular delay in payment.

168 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when beef premium payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

When the registered owner of the herd number quoted submits documentation requested in connection with his application under the 1990 special beef premium scheme the question of his eligibility for grants under that scheme and the 1991 special beef premium scheme will be considered further.

Question:

169 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when beef subsidy grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The registered owner of the herd number quoted has been paid his 1991 beef cow scheme grant already. His grants under the 1991 suckler cow scheme for small scale milk producers are being processed at present and payment will issue shortly.

He did not apply under the 1991 special beef premium scheme.
