Phil Hogan

Question:

69 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline the grants and any other financial assistance that were paid by the Industrial Development Authority to companies involved in the agricultural engineering sector from 1985 to 1991; if he will further outline, (a) the amount of finance granted and the numbers employed in each application, (b) the value of exports in each application, (c) the amount of equity, if any, invested by the State in any of these projects, (d) the annual return achieved on this equity for each project and (e) the percentage shareholding for each project in respect of the equity invested; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Information in relation to grant assistance and other details concerning individual companies fall within the day to day responsibility of the Industrial Development Authority, in respect of which I have no direct function.

Information relating to grant payments and equity investment by the IDA for the period 1985 to 1990 is contained in the IDA Annual Reports which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The IDA Annual Report for 1991 will be published in the coming months.
