144 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the response to the request from Galway County Council for the allocation of £20,000 for the provision of a pedestrian crossing in Gort, County Galway.

No proposals for the provision of a pedestrian crossing in Gort have been received in my Department. If such proposals are submitted, they will be given due consideration having regard to conditions at this location and the availability of funding.
