Vol. 419 No. 6

Written Answers. - Institute of Clerks of Works.

Enda Kenny

Question:

251 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the Institute of Clerks of Works in Ireland have not been considered eligible for inclusion among those suitably qualified to approve buildings under the building regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Apart from the requirement to obtain a fire safety certificate from a building control authority in respect of the design of certain buildings, there is no statutory requirement to have buildings approved under the new building control system.
