Vol. 419 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ex-Serviceman's Pension.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

95 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence whether a person (details supplied) in County Kildare qualifies for an ex-serviceman's pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the Defence Forces (Pensions) Schemes, the minimum service required to qualify for a pension in the case of a non-commissioned officer or private is 21 years. As the person in question did not have the requisite service, he is not eligible for a pension under the schemes.
