Vol. 419 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

165 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a cow suckler grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact that it was an absolute bona fide application and genuine error which led to ineligibility on one animal.

This person has been deemed ineligible for payment of grants under the 1991 Suckler Cow Premium Scheme because he listed one male animal on his application and did not maintain another animal on which he applied for premium for six months from date of application as required under the terms and conditions of the Scheme. Furthermore he is ineligible to participate in the 1992 Suckler Cow Premimium Scheme.

Question:

166 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the full amount of disadvantaged area payments under the beef premium and other schemes will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite same.

This person has been paid the full amounts due to him under the 1991 Special Beef Premium, Beef Cow and Suckler Cow Premium Schemes already.

Question:

167 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when outstanding payments under the EC ewe premium scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make the cheque available for collection by the person in view of the written promises by the Department to pay the considerable outstanding amounts in April, and in view of the postal strike.

Arrangements are being made to have a cheque for the outstanding payment sent to the local office of my Department in Enniscorthy and the payee may collect it there on production of satisfactory identification (e.g. driver's licence).
