Vol. 420 No. 1

Written Answers. - Fire Service.

Ivor Callely

Question:

52 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself with the progress in implementing the Stardust Tribunal recommendations for the fire service; if he will consider reviewing the question of establishing an inspectorate of fire services, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 14, 73, 100 and 160 on 6 February, 1991. I have no proposals to modify the general policy approach followed since the enactment of the Fire Services Act, 1981, as set out in that reply.
