Vol. 420 No. 3

Written Answers. - Farm Improvement Grants.

Ivan Yates

Question:

162 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether the decision to cut farm improvement programme grants in the disadvantaged areas from 55 per cent to 45 per cent will not be backdated to January and will only apply from when the decision was taken in April of this year, in view of the hardship caused in individual cases who are having their approvals revised.

The rates of grant under the Farm Improvement Programme were revised with effect from 1 January 1992 to comply with Regulations (EEC) No. 2328/91 under which the programme operates.
