Vol. 420 No. 6

Written Answers. - Swords (County Dublin) Health Centre.

Seán Ryan

Question:

121 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health if he will report on the discussions with the Eastern Health Board regarding the provision of the much needed and long overdue new health centre in Swords, County Dublin; and if he will confirm that the necessary finance will be made available from his Department to enable the next stage of this project to proceed this year and that this will be financed, if necessary, from the additional capital investment for improvement of community based services which was provided for in the Programme for Economic and Social Progress.

Following discussions with the Eastern Health Board it was agreed that a formal project team would be established to complete the necessary planning for the building of a new health centre in Swords.

Outline agreement has been reached with the Eastern Health Board on the funding arrangements and it is my intention to include a provision in the estimates for 1993 for sufficient funds in conjunction with the Eastern Health Board contribution to ensure the project will remain on target.
