I propose to take Questions Nos. 36, 41, 42, 43, 56, 57 and 74 together.

The Law Reform Commission was requested by the Attorney General to formulate proposals for reform of the law in this area. The relevant provision is section 4 (2) (c) of the Law Reform Commission Act, 1975. In accordance with that provision, the commission's report, when completed, will be submitted to the Attorney General and, following the usual practice, will then be considered by the Government.

There is no requirement in the Act for the commission's report to be presented to the Oireachtas. This formality is reserved for the formal work programmes and annual reports of the commission. The report on dishonesty, as is the case with all the commission's reports, will be published by the commission itself in due course.

As I indicated in my reply to questions on 30 April 1992 my understanding is that the commission's report is at an advanced stage of preparation.
