Vol. 421 No. 5

Written Answers. - Disabled Persons Maintenance Allowance.

Nora Owen

Question:

91 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in County Dublin has been approved for disabled persons maintenance allowance as she is a suffer of MS.

The Eastern Health Board has informed me that the person in question re-applied for disabled persons maintenance allowance on 28 May 1992, having previously been refused. The assessment of eligibility for an allowance or assistance in any individual case is the responsibility of the health board concerned. Accordingly, I have requested the Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Health Board to investigate the case and reply to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
