Vol. 421 No. 5

Written Answers. - Home Help for Multiple Birth Families.

Dick Spring

Question:

26 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health if he will outline any specific plans he has to initiate reforms which would allow for the provision of a home help to families who experience multiple births; and if he will provide a timetable for its initiation.

The provision of a home help service is a matter for the Chief Executive Officer of the relevant health board subject to any directions that I may make. Each application for a home help is carefully and sympathetically examined on its individual merits and I am informed that in general the present arrangements are working well. I do not therefore consider it necessary to make any direction in relation to women who experience multiple births.
