157 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health if he proposes to set up a procedure whereby GMS prescription pads containing consultants' reference numbers would be issued to all hospitals; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The issuing of GMS prescription pads to hospital consultants was one of a number of recommendations contained in the interim report of the National Therapeutics Advisory Committee which I received recently. I am having the recommendations of the Committee examined in my Department including the feasibility of introducing GMS prescription pads in hospitals.
