Vol. 421 No. 8

Written Answers. - Casual Trading Licences.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

74 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties that persons have in obtaining a casual trading licence from his Department in order to enable them to participate in commerce and trade; if, having regard to the high levels of unemployment that persist within the economy, he will recommend or introduce changes in this practice; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The operation of the Casual Trading Act, 1980, is currently being reviewed by my Department and any difficulties that have been brought to my Department's attention will be considered in this context.
