Question:

80 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the number of physically disabled persons employed in his Department.

The number of physically disabled persons employed in my Department is 16. The position in relation to the Offices under the aegis of my Department is as follows:

(1) State Laboratory, 1; (2) Valuation & Ordnance Survey Office, 4; (3) Civil Service Commission, 0; (4) Ombudsman, 0; (5) Office of Public Works, 13.

In the case of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners, the total number of disabled persons employed is 78. However, information is not readily available as to the breakdown between physically disabled and mentally disabled persons.
