Vol. 421 No. 9

Written Answers. - EC Directives.

Mervyn Taylor

Question:

109 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement outlining the EC Directives, for which he is responsible, which have not been implemented and the date by which each such Directive should have been implemented.

The Department of Foreign Affairs are responsible for co-ordinating the necessary steps to implement three Directives concerning rights of residence. The Directives are 90/364/EEC, 90/365/EEC and 90/366/EEC. The legislative measures necessary to enable Ireland to implement fully the requirements of the directives are near completion and it is intended that they will be in place shortly after the deadline which was 30 June 1992.
