Vol. 421 No. 9

Written Answers. - Discrimination in Security Forces.

Michael Creed

Question:

40 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the contents of a newspaper report (details supplied) where it was alleged that discrimination of sorts was practised within the security forces against non-Catholics; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am fully satisfied that there is no discrimination on religious grounds within the Defence Forces. All members of the Defence Forces are given every opportunity and assistance to attend religious services of their choice.
