Vol. 421 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kildare School Regulations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

78 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if the regulatory space, safety at work, and health regulations will be attainable at Scoil Iognáid Rís, Naas, County Kildare after September 1992 in the event of the projected influx of new students; if he will further outline the way in which the aforementioned regulations are to be met in the interim having regard to the expected intake of students; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Compliance with the regulations referred to by the Deputy is a matter, in the first instance, for the school authorities. However, my Department are prepared to consider applications for grants towards the cost of necessary improvements that might be eligible for assistance under the scheme of capital grants for secondary schools.
