Question:14 Mr. Quinn asked the Taoiseach if he has any proposals to change or otherwise alter the present structures and organisation of the Arts Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The structures and organisation of the Arts Council in regard to the chairmanship and membership of the council and the establishment of advisory committees are set out in the Arts Acts 1951 and 1973 and I have no plans to amend these Acts.
Proposals relating to the internal management and staffing structures of the council have been received from the council and these are at present under examination in my Department in the light of the increased staff numbers and costs that might be involved.
