126 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Energy if he will give details of any planned exploration works now being carried out, or to be carried out, during the coming year in (a) County Sligo and (b) County Leitrim; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
At present two prospecting licences in County Sligo are operated by Navan Resources plc. and one licence is operated by Conroy Petroleum and Natural Resources plc. (now Arcon International Resources plc.).
In County Leitrim Navan Resources plc. operate six prospecting licences. Two licences are operated by Tara Prospecting Ltd. and one licence each is operated by Conroy Petroleum and Natural Resources plc. and Brancote Mining Ltd.
All information furnished by a prospecting licence holder during the currency of a licence is treated as confidential. It is a matter for the company to decide what it wishes to make publicly available.
