253 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if she will clarify her proposals in relation to a review of the Broadcasting Act, 1990, with particular reference to the proposals, if any, to reallocate a portion of the television licence fee to local radio stations and the capping of RTE's revenue; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have completed my review of broadcasting and I hope to circulate proposals to my Government colleagues in the coming weeks. I cannot be specific on the detail of my proposals in advance of Government decision on the matter. I had set myself an autumn date for the publication of my proposals and I believe that I am still on target.
