Vol. 423 No. 8

Written Answers. - Children Committed to Prison.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

99 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Justice the number of children under the age of 17 committed under Section 102 (3) of the Children's Act, 1908, from 1975 to date; the gender breakdown of this number; and the prisons to which they were committed.

The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available and its compilation would require the expenditure of staff time to an extent that could not be justified.
