Vol. 424 No. 1

Written Answers. - Radio Hearing Aid.

Austin Deasy

Question:

98 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if he will provide a radio hearing aid for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford whose hearing problem has further deteriorated since this matter was last raised by way of a Dáil question some months ago.

The child in question received a radio aid in 1986 through the National Rehabilitation Board, which monitors the working condition of all such equipment.

The radio aid in question was serviced during the 1991-92 school year and again earlier this month, when a small fault was diagnosed and repaired. Inquiries made by my Department suggest the equipment is now working satisfactorily.
