Written Answers. - County Meath School Developments.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

109 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education if he has received details of proposed developments at a school (details supplied) in County Meath where there are approximately 245 children enrolled; if he will confirm that his Department pays 75 per cent of the total cost of rental of £7,488 per year to the vocational education committee; if he intends to allocate sufficient funds for commencement of this project in the near future, either in 1992 or 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application for new accommodation for the school in County Meath referred to by the Deputy is being considered with reference to the existing accommodation in the school and projected enrolment trends. Pending the outcome of this examination it is not possible to consider planning or the allocation of funds.

The Department pays 75 per cent of the rental (£7,488) for the school's accommodation in the former Navan Vocational School.
