49 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if the ongoing educational requirements of both urban and rural communities have been fully addressed with particular reference to the likely conflict of confusion arising from the Green Paper on Education; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I can assure the Deputy that the educational requirements of both urban and rural communities have been taken into account in framing proposals contained in the Green Paper. There is no question of the switching of resources from rural areas to urban areas.
