Vol. 424 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Transport Scheme.

Austin Deasy

Question:

59 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties being experienced by children from West Waterford attending school for the handicapped in St. Martin's in Waterford city; and the action, if any, he intends to take to ensure that transport will be provided in this case.

I understand that the Deputy is referring to three particular children from West Waterford who travel on a daily basis to St. Martin's special school in Waterford city. This matter has only been brought to my Department's attention in recent days. The cases have been referred for attention to Bus Éireann, who are the appointed agents for the administration of the school transport scheme.
