Vol. 424 No. 2

Written Answers. - Industrial Credit Corporation.

Richard Bruton

Question:

105 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance the consultations, if any, which have been held with staff in the Industrial Credit Corporation concerning the proposed sale of the company; and the conditions, if any, he has imposed on the sale in the public interest.

The ICC Bank plc has effectively been on the market for sale since the end of 1990. Staff have been kept informed of developments as they arise, and prior to any sale taking place, the Government will honour the commitments in the Programme for Economic an Social Progress in regard to appropriate consultations.

The question of what conditions, if any, might be attached to a sale does not arise at this stage.
