Vol. 424 No. 5

Written Answers. - Clinical Fees.

Jim Higgins

Question:

87 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the reason he has refused Mayo County Council permission to grant-aid the clinical fees for a student (details supplied) from County Mayo.

The course in question is part of the advanced technical skills programme approved by my Department.

No tuition fees are payable by students as this is an approved ATS course. The question of payment of clinical fees is under consideration by my Department. I will inform the Deputy of the outcome.
Only the maintenance grant is payable under the terms of the higher education grants scheme by Mayo County Council, the body statutorily entrusted with the administration of scheme in this case.
