Vol. 424 No. 8

Written Answers. - CIE Pension.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

155 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if there is any provision in the pension legislation relating to CIE employees regarding the eligibility of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for any pension or allowance.

The appropriate pension legislation in this case is the CIE Regular Wages Scheme. I am advised by CIE who have day to day responsibility for the administration of this Scheme that the individual concerned was refunded his pension contributions in accordance with the rules of the Scheme when he resigned from the Company in October, 1960. Consequently he has no further pension entitlement under the provisions of this Scheme.
