Bill to amend the Racing Board and Racecourse Acts, 1945 & 1975 |

An interim Committee will shortly be set up comprising two members from the Governing Bodies, two from the Racing Board, one to represent the racecourses, a Department official and an independent chairman. This Committee would be, inter alia, a focus for the industry's input into the drafting of the new legislation. |

Bill to amend the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 |
Following a Government decision an ad hoc group consisting of representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Food and Bord na gCon are reviewing the construction of the industry with a view to presenting proposals to the Minister shortly |
It is unlikely that the substantial amendments to the Act that will arise as a result of the review will be ready until mid-1993. |
