Vol. 425 No. 3

Business of Dáil.

Notwithstanding the order of the House it is proposed that, following the conclusion of the opening speeches on Second Stage of the Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1992 by the Minister and the main Opposition spokespersons, and the ten minute response by the Minister, the Committee and remaining Stages of the Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1992, shall commence; that proceedings on the Committee and remaining Stages of Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1992, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at 2.30 p.m. by one question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall in relation to amendments include only those set down or accepted by the Minister for Finance.

Is that agreed? Agreed.

While accepting the proposition put to us may I ask you, a Cheann Comhairle, to allow as much latitude as you possibly can during Committee Stage to those of us who will be precluded from making Second Stage speeches, particularly if we are talking on a section in which we have a particular interest and on which we might want to elaborate if given the opportunity.

The Deputy can be assured of that.
