Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Garda Patrols.

Tony Gregory

Question:

175 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if she will investigate local residents' complaints that uniformed Gardaí regularly congregate in a shop (details supplied) in Dublin 7 between 7.30 and 8.30 a.m., and between 8 and 10 p.m. instead of patrolling the area which is part of the Bridewell District, Dublin 7.

The Garda authorities totally refute the allegation contained in the Deputy's question. Uniformed gardaí on beat duty regularly visit shops and business premises to give assurance of Garda presence or discuss security and crime prevention.
