Written Answers. - County Galway Group Water Scheme.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

237 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment the position regarding the Newtown/Tycooley group water scheme, County Galway.

The group propose to connect to the Ballymacward/Castleblakeney group water scheme. However, this scheme is affected by problems of water quantity and quality. The question of suitable treatment for the Ballymacward/ Castleblakeney source is being examined by Galway County Council and further progress of the Newtown/Tycooley proposal must await this.
