Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Social Reform Programme.

Bernard Allen

Question:

419 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform if he proposes to introduce appropriate anti-discrimination legislation in the case of travellers.

The Programme for Government sets out the Government's commitment to a wide-ranging programme of social reform including anti-discrimination measures in the case of the travelling community. I have already initiated a comprehensive examination of civil law reform work.

When the examination is complete, I will determine the order of priority of the legislative work needed to implement the commitments in the Programme for Government and the details will be announced in this House.
