Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Replacement Surgery.

Jim Higgins

Question:

442 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the case of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, he will authorise the Western Health Board to proceed with hip replacement surgery in respect of this person.

I understand that the person in question is not on the in-patient or out-patient waiting list within the Western Health Board area. I would advise the person concerned to return to his general practitioner who would be in the best position to pursue the matter and to arrange a further referral if this is required.
