Question:

491 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education the percentage of papers submitted for re-correction in the Leaving Certificate examination for each of the years from 1988 to 1992 which had the percentage or grade upgraded.

The percentage of applications for a recheck of Leaving Certificate results which were upgraded in each year from school year 1988-89 is as follows: 1988-89, 4.3 per cent; 1989-90, 4.6 per cent; 1990-91, 4.7 per cent; 1991-92, 9.2 per cent.
