Vol. 425 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dundalk (Louth) Housing.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

88 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give priority in the 1993 allocation to Dundalk UDC, County Louth, to allow the remaining 13 UDC houses without bathrooms to have the required extensions commenced in 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The capital allocations for the bathrooms sub-programme will be notified to local authorities as soon as possible. In the meantime, I cannot comment on the possibility that allocations will be made this year in respect of any particular houses.

Question:

89 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the need to upgrade and repair approximately 50 OPDs in Dundalk UDC, County Louth; if he will give priority to this in the 1993 allocation to Dundalk UDC; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals for the refurbishment of these dwellings have been approved in principle and contract documentation is awaited from the council. The capital allocations under the remedial works scheme for this year will be notified to local authorities as soon as possible.
