Vol. 426 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Frank Crowley

Question:

111 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he has received an application for a suckler cow grant from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, if this application has been approved for payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I can now confirm that my Department has received a 1992 suckler cow premium scheme application from the person named. This application is being processed at present and payment of the premium of £1,664.96 less a deduction of £761.67 for an overpayment under the beef cow scheme in less severely handicapped areas will issue shortly.

I regret that the information given in Parliamentary Question No. 324 on Wednesday, 10 February indicating that the person named did not apply for grants under the 1992 suckler cow scheme was incorrect.
