Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ministerial Appointments.

Peter Barry

Question:

202 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Marine the number of advisers appointed to his office, their suitability for the job, and their background and training; if these positions were advertised; the contracts on which they were appointed; the amounts paid to each individual; and the role each, or any particular group, will play in formulating or implementing Government policy.

I am in the process of appointing a partnership programme manager to facilitate the implementation of the Programme for a Partnership Government. I am satisfied that the person under consideration for appointment is suitable having regard to his previous experience in the areas of administration, management and communications. Details of his contract and remuneration have not yet been finalised.
