Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Policy Changes.

Michael Noonan

Question:

314 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Health the policy changes, if any, which underpin the increases or decreases in the sub-heads in Votes controlled by his Department; and if he will make a statement on whether increased or reduced services will be provided by his Department in 1993.

The 1993 Health Vote provides sufficient funding to maintain services at the level approved in respect of 1992, including services which were developed during last year. It incorporates a number of decisions on measures in relation to income generation and savings which will enable this target to be achieved. The Vote also provides additional funds for services for the elderly and for dental services.
