Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Michael Noonan

Question:

352 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary is entitled to a widower and dependent child pension.

The position is that there is no spouse's and children's pension from the secondary teachers superannuation scheme payable in this particular case as the deceased teacher in question chose not to join the spouse's and children's scheme when it was introduced for female teachers in 1981.
