Vol. 427 No. 2

Written Answers. - Collooney-Claremorris Rail Link.

Jim Higgins

Question:

168 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if it is proposed to include the restoration of the railway link from Collooney to Claremorris as part of the North-South Western rail link from Sligo to Rosslare (details supplied) and as a project in the State's application for structural and cohesion funding from the European Community; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The restoration of the Collooney to Claremorris rail line is a matter of detail relating to the day-to-day administration of Iarnród Éireann. Accordingly, I have no function in the matter. There are no plans to seek EC funds for the restoration of services on the line.
