Vol. 427 No. 3

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Review of the Constitution.

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

3 Mr. O'Malley asked the Taoiseach if in light of the fact that the Constitution is now in force for more than 55 years, and that it has not been officially reviewed as a whole since 1967, the Government will now establish an all party review of the Constitution by a Special Committee of the Oireachtas to consider the terms of the Constitution in the context of the major political, economic and social changes since 1937.

There are no proposals to establish an all party special committee to review the Constitution.
